Bijanka Bacic ist eine in London lebende australische Künstlerin, deren malerisches Werk sich mit Themen wie Erinnerung, Identität und Natur auseinandersetzt. Ihre Gemälde entstehen in einem vielschichtigen Prozess, bei dem historische Bezüge, persönliche Narrative und skizzenhafte Elemente in spannungsreiche Kompositionen überführt werden. Die Arbeiten zeichnen sich durch eine subtile Balance zwischen Struktur und Intuition aus: Ein reduziertes, fein abgestimmtes Farbspektrum erzeugt dabei eine rhythmische Komplexität, die zwischen Harmonie und Chaos schwingt.
Bacic verbindet formale Klarheit mit inhaltlicher Tiefe – ihre Werke entfalten sich langsam und laden zur kontemplativen Betrachtung ein. Durch das Zusammenspiel von Schichtungen, Durchlässigkeit und gestischer Zurückhaltung entstehen Bildräume, die sowohl archaisch als auch gegenwärtig wirken. In ihrer Malerei formuliert sie eine poetische Auseinandersetzung mit Zeit und Wandel – ein stilles Echo kollektiver wie individueller Erinnerungen.

Life
Bijanka Bacic (b. 1997) is an Australian artist currently residing in London. She obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the National Art School in Australia in 2018 and subsequently completed her MA in Painting from the Royal College of Arts, UK, in 2023.
Bacic has showcased her work in both solo and group exhibitions, including at KÖNIG GALERIE St. Agnes (2024), Future Gallery Berlin (2024), KÖNIG GALERIE Milan (2023), Art Cologne with KÖNIG GALERIE (2023), Long Story Short NYC (2024), and OHSH Projects London (2023).
